Paxon Honors Chorus with Alumni
Paxon School for Advanced Studies choruses feature some of the most talented youth musicians in Jacksonville. Paxon, an International Baccalaureate school that holds the honor of being ranked the number 7 high school in the United States by Newsweek Magazine, has a Fine Arts program that is on par with its academic college preparatory curriculum.

Paxon choruses repertoire includes classical, spirituals, contemporary gospel, pop, R&B and patriotic music. The 80-voice honors chorus and its smaller component, Paxon Chorale frequently perform at community, city and state sponsored events and received a Superior Rating at its last district Music Performance Assessment.

The diversity of the choruses members results in a unique sound that is soulful, warm and uplifting to all who hear them.
The Honors Chorus received accolades at the NFL’s Super Bowl Salute to Black History Month at the Florida Theatre, NFL Players Salute to Florida Teachers ceremony and local McDonald’s “Get Moving with Ronald” mini-musical performed throughout northeast Florida and southern Georgia.

Paxon Chorale - Best of the Best
Paxon teamed with Ritz Voices in a stellar holiday concert at the Ritz Theatre in 2003, and also performed the National Anthem at NBA’s Miami Heat vs. Orlando Magic game in the fall.
Paxon Chorale recently recorded a CD of original children’s songs at the request of the city’s Mayor. This 10-song CD is given to every baby born in Jacksonville in 2007. This chorus was also asked to perform at the city’s “Teach for America” kick-off in May.
